Line du Jour

Stripes are worn in Paris. Stripes may widen our proportions. Stripes may look like jail uniform. But did you ever realize how different each striped clothing looks, depending on the material its made of? Besides the design of thin and thick lines, and of course the color, the fabric stripes are painted on is what makes the difference.

Nothing looks as refreshing and summer(ish) as a silk top with blue lines, often resembling a garment for a sailor. On the contrary, a velvet pair of shorts with red lines may look heavy and aggitating. Personally I hate the black and white combination of lines; they remind of me of prisoner’s uniforms. Any other combination of lines is OK for me. As for the fabric, I go for silky or cotton, it just seems like they belong with stripes more than any other material.
