Great Gatsby: Preview Shots

Waiting in anticipation for the 15 May; the first viewing of the Great Gatsby film, any sneak-peak nourishes our souls with adrenaline and curiosity.

Looking at the shots, an automatic comparison is evident right away between the original and the latest adaptation of the film. It is by far one of my favorite novels, and Gatsby is one of my most admired fictional characters. Im curious to see Leonardo Di Caprio play Gatsby the most.

  1. I am a big fan of the Great Gatsby, the book, which is why I am kind of scared to see it as a movie. The book relies on subtle looks and the beautiful imagery portrayed by Fitzgerald’s writing. To me it is funny, Fitzgerald failed in the movie industry and he didn’t much care for it. It seems his sweet revenge, making a book that people love and can’t (so far) be turned into a viable movie. I do trust this director and I LOVE Leonardo. If anyone can do it, it will be them. But how do you film lines like, “So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.” How do you film that feeling?? I can’t wait to see what they do with it.
